FGV’s Rio de Janeiro Law School (Direito Rio) will hold “Law in Rio 2017” from November 8 - 10. The national exchange program is geared towards students and alumni of the Law graduate courses held by FGV’s partner institutions throughout Brazil. Besides being an opportunity for interaction with Direito Rio’s academic community, the workshop allows participants to attend classes on contemporary topics complementary to student training.

This edition will introduce students to topics that have aroused great interest in society, due to the anti-corruption law and the consequences of Operation Car Wash. It will address topics such as ‘Compliance and anti-bribery,’ ‘Premial law and rewarded collaboration,’ ‘Election financing, lobbying, and the anti-corruption agenda.’

In addition, Law in Rio 2017 will also make room for discussions on ‘legal decisions and limited rationality,’ ‘internet of things and privacy,’ ‘technological revolutions and impacts on the Law.’ The meeting will also address the ‘Investment Partnerships Program’ and ‘taxation in the internet age’.
