The FGV Finance Club hosted a lecture for undergraduate students with the Brazilian Minister of Finance, Henrique Meirelles, last Friday afternoon, November 17. Approximately 300 people attended the event held in the 9 de Julho Auditorium.
Meirelles spoke about his career and shared his views regarding the Brazilian economy for the coming years. The dean of FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP), professor Luiz Brito, led the opening ceremony and the event was moderated by professor Paulo Terra.
Holding a degree in Civil Engineering from Escola Politécnica of the University of São Paulo (USP), Meirelles completed an MBA at the Graduate and Administration Research Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. In the professional field, he has held prominent positions, such as global president of BankBoston and president of the Central Bank of Brazil, during President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s term.
