IBGE’s figures released last Friday, December 1, confirm the forecasts of the GDP Monitor and IBRE’s Macro Bulletin, prepared by researchers from FGV’s Brazilian Institute of Economics (IBRE). The Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 0.1% in the third quarter of 2017 compared to the previous quarter, with seasonal adjustment – the same percentage that estimated by IBRE.

Compared to the third quarter of 2016, the growth rate announced by the IBGE was 1.4%, in line with the 1.3% predicted by the researchers of IBRE’s Macro area. With the growth of the GDP in the third-quarter, IBRE’s Macro Bulletin adjusted GDP growth estimates to 1% for this year, compared to the expected 0.9%.
