International Conference welcomes research on role of companies in sustainable societies

How can Latin American companies contribute towards building a more equitable society? The fiercely competitive business world seems to hold back the generation of value and especially the distribution of value generated. Rising inequality, deterioration of the natural environment, and depletion of natural resources give rise to an urgent need to rethink how we do business. That is the topic of discussion of the “Strategic Management in Latin America” conference, to be held by FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) in 2019. Those who wish to join the debate and learn more about this subject must submit an extended abstract of their research by March 31, 2018.

The conference will accept theoretical and empirical research, as well as research projects with a focus on business practices, addressing alternatives to build a more equitable society. All research must discuss alternatives for Latin American companies to address this particular issue. In addition, research on strategic management in general will also be accepted.

The keynote speaker of the 2019 SMLA conference will be global strategy professor Daniel Shapiro (Simon Fraser University – Canada), as well as a guest Brazilian executive. The best papers presented during the event will be published on the Journal of Business Research (Qualis CAPES A1 and ABS level 3).
