Sanitation industry leaders and IDB representatives gather at workshop

FGV’s Center for Regulation and Infrastructure Studies (CERI), hosted an event in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as part of the initiative ‘Strategic Dialogs: Sustainable Infrastructure’, which hosts a series of discussions with local and foreign opinion-makers and experts regarding key challenges faced across the main infrastructure sectors, while also proposing solutions to these challenges.
Invited by the Director of CERI, Joisa Dutra, and IDB’s Representative in Brazil, Hugo Flórez Timorán, representatives from the government, corporations, associations, regulators, scholars, and researchers attended the event on February 26 at FGV’s 9 de Julho Room, in São Paulo. Among them were the President of Sabesp, Jerson Kelman, President of BRK Ambiental, Teresa Vernaglia, Executive Director of Abcon, Ana Lia de Castro, Director of the Regulation of the National Water Agency (ANA), Oscar Cordeiro, lawyer and FGV professor Mauricio Portugal, and the Institutional Director of AGIR-SC, Vanessa Schimitt, among others.
Based on these discussions, CERI will develop a report on the energy, transportation, and sanitation sectors, which will be used as reference to outline IDB’s investment strategy in Brazil between 2019 and 2023. The document prepared by FGV’s CERI to guide the discussion, the experts’ presentations, and event pictures are available on the website.
