FGV enters unprecedented partnership with international supply chain organization

The Center for Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain (FGVcelog) of FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP) and the RoundTable Brazil Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) recently entered into an unprecedented partnership that will positively impact the Supply Chain segment and its professionals across the country. The goal is to foster the integration of practical cases and academia, in order to leverage the professional value of the area’s workers.

The partnership will initially work around three main pillars: association, events, and research. In the first pillar, students of the Professional Master’s in Management for Competitiveness with emphasis in Supply Chain and FGVcelog researchers will join CSCMP and access the institution’s educational content, as well as lectures and networking.

The second pillar involves a cycle of year-round events open to the Supply Chain public: the ‘Supply Chain Dialogues’ will disseminate trends, information, and analyses through presentations and debates, through renowned national and international names of the market. The third pillar will support and promote FGVcelog research projects.

According to FGVcelog’s Coordinator, Priscila de Souza Miguel, this partnership reinforces the study center’s mission. “FGVcelog’s role is to produce and disseminate knowledge by integrating theory, research, and practice. The alliance with CSCMP of RoundTable Brazil – an internationally renowned institution – strengthens the relevance of professionals from this area in business management and can potentially consolidate Brazil as a major professional center, with highly qualified people”.

According to the President of CSCMP RoundTable Brazil, Marcelo Schmitt, the partnership with FGVcelog comes at a time when interests are aligned: EAESP’s Center for Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain was searching for an international partner such as CSCMP, with the same goals of supporting professionals across all steps of their careers”.

Schmitt also points out that this is CSCMP’s first educational partnership. In addition to lectures and discussions of relevant issues, our focus is to work alongside FGVcelog to develop research, which is one of the country’s gaps and a field where CSCMP has vast experience. We will increase our membership base and create a solid step to pick up the work we started in Brazil back in 2017. And with our local presence, we will offer the value that our members already have overseas”, he said.

The agenda of the Supply Chain Dialogues event will be published soon. The first event is scheduled for April 11, with the theme: Value Chain, Collaboration, Digitalization, and Blockchain, at EAESP.
