Oxford event addresses study on democracy in countries that rely on natural resources and external savings

Professors Daniela Campello and Cesar Zucco, from FGV’s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE), held the conference ‘Merit, Luck, and Accountability’ on March 16 and 17, at the Nuffield College of the University of Oxford, in the United Kingdom. The conference brought together experts from various regions to discuss the professors’ manuscript, which breaks down the inner workings of democracy in countries that rely on natural resources and external savings.

In addition to the authors, the event was attended by other guests from Oxford and different countries, including Karen Remmer (Duke University, USA), Randy Stevenson (Rice University, USA), Ray Duch (Nuffield College, Oxford), Marina Costa Lobo (Institute of Social Sciences of Lisbon), Mark Kayser (Hertie School of Government, Berlin), Yotam Margalit (Telaviv University, Israel), Tim Power (St. Antony’s College, Oxford), and David Rueda (Nuffield College, Oxford).
