Energy sector experts commence 2018 Advisory Board meetings
FGV Energy held the 2nd Advisory Board meeting on April 5. The purpose of the event was to discuss the energy sector in general and the economy’s impacts, in addition to proposing new research ideas.
The meeting started with a lecture by professor Samuel Pessoa, researcher from FGV’s Brazilian Institute of Economics (IBRE), on the topic ‘The Impact of the Economy on the Energy Sector’. After the lecture, the Board discussed the country’s political-economic scenario and its consequences for the Brazilian energy sector.
After the discussion, Felipe Gonçalves, Research Superintendent at FGV Energy, presented the study tracks that FGV Energy is developing, based on suggestions provided by members of the Board in the first meeting, back in November 2017.
The following guests and members of the Advisory Board attended the meeting: Altino Ventura, André Araújo (SHELL), Arnaldo Silva, Carlos Langoni (FGV and Projeta Consultoria), Luiz Eduardo Osório (Vale), Marcio Zimmermann (FGV Energy), Mario Santos (Enel Brasil), Maurício Stolle Bähr (Engie), and Ozires Silva (Unimonte). Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, President of FGV, and Sergio Quintella, Vice President of FGV, were also in attendance.
