Fapesp approves project on global standards against cyberthreats

The research project on cybersecurity by researcher Barrie James Sander has received a postdoctoral scholarship from the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (Fapesp). Sander is a postdoctoral intern at FGV’s Center for International Relations and, during the next two years, his study will examine how global standards for protection against cyberthreats emerge at times of peace and become the subject of dispute in international politics.

In addition, the project will contribute to the development of initiatives by the Center for International Relations, promoting education and research in the field of cybersecurity. These initiatives include training new experts in cybersecurity issues in the field of International Relations in Brazil and expanding the Center’s research projects on this particular subject.

Sander holds a PhD in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (Switzerland) and has experience in the field of international legal studies and development of public policies in the field of law.

FGV’s Center for International Relations is based in the School of Social Sciences (FGV CPDOC).
