Research provides diagnosis on low participation of women in academic life

On May 30, at 10 a.m., the Graduate Seminars program will welcome professor Márcia Cristina Bernardes Barbosa, the Director of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and winner of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science award in 2013.

At the event, held by the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE), the guest will discuss the paper titled “Women in Science. Why so few?”, in which she discusses the reasons that lead to the low participation of women in academic life.

The purpose of the Graduate Seminars program is to promote high-level debate regarding ongoing research in the field of Administration and related areas. The seminars are geared toward all Master’s and PhD students. However, non-EBAPE researchers and PhD candidates are also welcome to participate. The Graduate Seminars is held throughout the academic year, depending on the availability of guest researchers.
