Lecture on regulator’s role in capital market given by CVM president

EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) will host the lecture titled “The role of the regulator in the capital market” on June 5, at 2 p.m. The event will be held in the auditorium of FGV’s main office (Praia de Botafogo, 190. 12th floor. Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro/RJ), with a presentation by the President of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), Marcelo Barbosa.
As part of the “Contemporary Themes” series, the event aims to give an overview of the importance of the capital market and the role of the CVM, clarifying its powers, operating fronts, and goals.
Marcelo Barbosa holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Uerj and an LL. M from Columbia University. He currently teaches the subject “Concrete Cases of Corporate Law and Capital Market” at FGV’s Rio de Janeiro Law School (Direito Rio).
