Transparency and access to public management database debated at FGV

Revista Discente Direito GV (Sao Paulo Law School Student Review - redGV) and the State of Sao Paulo will host a debate on Transparency and Access to the Public Management Database on Wednesday, June 6. The event will feature three professionals from the department: Manuella Ramalho, Interim General Ombudsman of the State and Chairperson of the Managing Committee of the Transparency Portal; Andrea Mustafa, Technical Advisor of the Office of the General Ombudsman of the State of Sao Paulo; and Eunice Prudente, President of the Public Administration Transparency Council and Technical Director of the Center for Preventive Actions and Transparency of the General Ombudsman of the State.
According to Lia Lopes Almeida, Communications Director for the journal, the meeting will bring together students and researchers to expand their knowledge of empirical research and develop techniques to access data.
“The state government offers more than 400 databases, 100 of which are accessible to the general public. But the main issue is that people don’t know how to access the data, which is crucial for empirical research. As our journal works with research and scientific papers, this information is very relevant”.
