FGV’s Rio de Janeiro Law School (FGV Direito Rio) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), will host the event titled “Regulatory technologies: New frontiers of education and culture,” on June 20 and 21, at the auditorium of FGV’s main office (Praia de Botafogo, 190. 12th floor – Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro/RJ). Over the course of two days, the meeting will bring together experts in law, education, innovation and regulation to discuss the changes happening in society as a result of technological progress and development.
The international event will address the impact of new technologies on education and access to materials in Brazilian higher education, as well as the role of platforms such as YouTube on content production and consumption. In addition, the experts will also discuss how technologies, devices and platforms ultimately serve as access and content regulators, as well as how the current regulatory framework influences the creation processes and what can be improved.
The idea is to promote relevant topics within the current education and culture agenda, constantly shaped by regulations and changes in people’s daily lives. Debates will revolve around interesting approaches to digitalization, piracy, copyright, access, openness, collections and spatiality.
