Preliminary Industry Survey results point to a drop compared to July

The Industry Survey’s preliminary figures for August 2018 indicate a 0.8-point drop in the Industry Confidence Index (ICI) compared to July, down to 99.3 points – the lowest level since November 2017.
The month’s worse results are influenced by the lower level of satisfaction of entrepreneurs amidst the current scenario. The Current Situation Index (ISA) fell 2.4 points in August, down to 96.6 points, and the Expectations Index (IE) was up 0.8 point, totaling 101.9 points.
Preliminary results for August show that the Industry Installed Capacity Usage Level (NUCI) stabilized at 75.7%.
A total of 782 companies were surveyed between August 1 and 17, 2018 for this month’s preliminary results. The final results will be published next Tuesday, August 28.
