The Center for Data Science Studies (NDS) of FGV’s Sao Paulo School of Economics (EESP) will host the very first Brazilian Data Science Meeting on December 10 and 11, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will gather market professionals and scholars from different fields who share a common interest in data science to discuss and promote ideas, theories, applications, and technologies, besides promoting networking on data science.

The meeting will feature academic and professional presentations, as well as lectures, on technological applications across several different sectors of the economy. The guest list includes representatives from major corporations, such as Microsoft, B3, Locaweb, ClearSale, IBM, Hospital Albert Einstein, Linx Impulse, and Google. The event also includes professionals from the Sao Paulo Transport Agency (ARTESP) and the Center for Municipal Administration Studies and Research (ETEC/CEPAM), besides EESP professors and researchers.

Besides the lectures, there will also be debate panels on Data Science trends. At the end of each day, participants may also attend short courses on Web Scrapping and Text Mining.
