Event discusses public policies in Alagoas

FGV Projetos will host the seminar titled “Alagoas: paths to the future” on February 15. The event will be held in the auditorium of FGV’s main office (Praia de Botafogo, 190. 12th floor. Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro/RJ), divided into two separate panels: one to discuss aspects related to education, healthcare, and social development, and another to address public safety, human rights and economic development.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. with an opening lecture by José Renan Vasconcelos Calheiros Filho, governor of the state of Alagoas, followed by a lecture on the project titled “Sustainable and inclusive urban prosperity: an integrated initiative”, based on a partnership between Alagoas and the UN-Habitat, led by UN-Habitat’s official in Brazil, Rayne Ferretti Moraes.
The first panel will include the Brazilian secretary of basic healthcare of the Department of Health, Daniel Soranz, the executive superintendent of Instituto Unibanco, Ricardo Henriques, and the professor of IBGE’s National School of Statistical Sciences and researcher of FGV’s Department of Public Policy Analysis (DAPP), Paulo Januzzi.
The second panel will host lectures by the executive director of Instituto Cidade Segura, Alberto Kopittke, the technical director of FGV Projetos, Ricardo Simonsen, and the professor of Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana, Gisele Ricobom.
The Technical Booklet “Alagoas: paths to the future” will also be launched during the event, breaking down the state’s main public policies and topics across multiple programs, projects and actions, and analyzing their results.
Articles were compiled across 12 chapters to underline the results of initiatives rolled out in recent years, while also pointing out challenges and opportunities to keep the State on the path towards growth.
