Collection sets out proposals for reforms to unleash Brazil

The Fundação Getulio Vargas´ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) recently organized a series of events to discuss “Proposals for reforms to unleash Brazil.” The results of these wide-ranging debates, which involved various sections of society, were then diagnosed and presented by each of the participants, in their areas of research, in the form of effective proposals for necessary reforms. Transformed into articles under the coordination of FGV EESP’s dean, Professor Yoshiaki Nakano, these proposals are now accessible to all Portuguese speakers in “O Brasil sob reforma,” an e-book that has just been launched by FGV Press.
At this time of economic crisis, the book presents different visions, from contrasting ideological angles, promoting the academic and intellectual freedom of their authors, who convey their perspectives and ideas about necessary reforms.
According to Professor Vladimir K. Teles, who wrote the book’s introduction and its first chapter, “the book is designed to contribute proposals that can promote the development of a more consistent economic and institutional environment, to allow the Brazilian economy to catch up with developed economies.”
