The FGV´s Sao Paulo Law School, in partnership with Germany’s Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, Rio Grande do Sul Federal University and Santa Catarina Federal University, invites you to take part in a webinar titled “Security in Cyberspace: dynamics, limits, and opportunities.” The event will be streamed live on May 14 at 8:30 am.

The webinar will foster links between the global North and South to discuss topics involving security, freedom, conflicts and power relations in the digital world, bringing together Brazilian and European academics. This debate between them aims to dispel perceptions that cyber issues are restricted to a handful of “Great Powers” like China, Russia and the United States, while presenting institutional best practices and approaches.

The purpose of the meeting is to evaluate and discuss the limits and opportunities of dynamics related to cyberspace. The participants will address subjects such as the possible implications of treating cyberspace as a battleground, tensions between online security and freedom, cybersecurity structures in Brazil and Europe, and power relations in the digital world.
