On July 30, the speaker of the House of Representatives, federal representative Rodrigo Maia, will participate in a webinar called “The Legal Framework for Basic Sanitation and Its Impact on the Economy.” The event, organized by FGV’s Infrastructure Economics & Environmental Solutions Group in partnership with BMG Seguros, will be broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel. The other speakers will be the head of the Brazilian Private Insurance Regulatory Agency (Susep), Solange Paiva, and FGV professor Gesner Oliveira. The moderator will be Jorge Sant’anna, the CEO of BMG Seguros.

Investment in infrastructure is crucial to the resumption of economic growth in Brazil. Sanitation is one of the most important sectors in this process, especially following the approval of its new regulatory framework. The development of insurance and reinsurance markets is also essential to the success of greater infrastructure investment.
