Future of vocational education is theme of FGV webinar

In the latest edition of its “Basic Education Challenges During the Pandemic” webinar series, Fundação Getulio Vargas will hold a debate on August 6 called “The Future of Vocational Education.” The aim of the event is to discuss possible ways to strengthen this form of education. It will be broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel, starting at 10 am.

The speakers will be the state education secretaries of Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte, Ellen Gera and Getúlio Marques, respectively; the education and technology director of the National Confederation of Industry, director general of the National Industrial Training Service (SENAI) and superintendent of SESI, an organization aimed at improving the welfare of industrial workers, Rafael Lucchesi; the president of the Federal Education, Science and Technology Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ), Rafael Almada; and educator and vocational education specialist Francisco Cordão. The moderator will be Professor Aléssio Trindade, of the Federal Education, Science and Technology Institute of Paraíba (IFPB).
