Webinar debates impacts and transformations for civil aviation and airport sector after COVID-19

On September 23, FGV Executive Education and FGV Transport, in partnership with the American Consulate in Rio de Janeiro and Amcham Brasil, and with institutional support from Abdib, will hold the second webinar in the “Dialogues for Development” series. This edition, which will debate impacts and transformations for aviation and airports after COVID-19, will be broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel, starting at 4 pm.
The civil aviation and airport sectors are major players in global trade and they require the adoption of international standards of operation and safety, as they are in an exclusive and complex position in light of the COVID-19 pandemic’s impacts and responses. In this complex situation, which involves governments, banks, manufacturers, airlines and airport operators, the webinar will discuss possible solutions and measures to mitigation and expand air traffic – an important area of work for specialized aviation and airport consulting firms.
The guest speakers will be Richard Aboulafia, the vice president of analysis at Teal Group; and Khalid Usman, senior vice president at Oliver Wyman’s Washington DC office. The event will also feature Ruy Amparo, a senior consultant at the Brazilian Airlines Association (ABEAR) and former vice president of TAM Linhas Aéreas; Respício Espírito Santo, a professor of air transport at Rio de Janeiro Federal University; and Alexandre Monteiro, the CEO of RIOgaleão. The moderator will be Marcus Quintella of FGV Transport.
The “Dialogues for Development” series is aimed at discussing key challenges and opportunities for the infrastructure area in Brazil, from a bilateral perspective and focused on economic recovery after COVID-19.
