For the third year in a row, Fundação Getulio Vargas had been rated a Socially Responsible Institution by the Brazilian Association of Higher Education Institutions (ABMES). This recognition was the result of continuous work and efforts by FGV’s Academic Records Office.

Guided by the idea that it is everyone’s responsibility to build a better future for Brazilian society, the Academic Records Office remains committed to running campaigns to involve the FGV community in causes that stimulate social awareness and a sense of equality and equity through volunteering. The goal is to raise awareness of each person’s role as a transformative agent in the formation of a more just and democratic country.

“We have been doing this work for the past few years and it has gained supporters across the FGV community,” says FGV’s superintendent of academic operations, Rodrigo Pamplona.

According to the Academic Records Office’s manager, Nara Almeida, social responsibility means playing one’s part in society. These actions don’t just help others, but also teach us to think collectively and turn us into better people.

These initiatives are also supported by the Education Ministry, which has guidelines for volunteering in basic and higher education.

ABMES represents private sector higher education organizations across Brazil in dealings with different levels of government and other organizations, helping to strengthen private sector higher education in the country.
