São Paulo Law School debates partnerships between control agencies and civil society organizations

The goal is to increase mutual understanding among institutions, identify problems in partnerships control and structure dialogues in order to improve control activity.

São Paulo Law School (FGV DIREITO SP) will welcome, on August 4, the 1º  Diálogo Paulista entre Órgãos de Controle e Organizações da Sociedade Civil - OSCs (São Paulo Debate among Control Bodies and Civil Society Organizations). Sponsored by Associação Paulista de Fundações (APF), the workshop will bring together representatives of the Board of Control, OSCs and the association. The goal is to increase mutual understanding among institutions, identify problems in partnerships control and structure dialogues in order to improve control activity.The association will be represented by the professor of undergraduate courses and specialization course in Administrative Law of São Paulo Law School, Carlos Ari Sundfeld, who is also president of the Brazilian Society of Public Law (SBDP). He will present the topic Trends for the improvement of partnership control.The OSCs will be represented by Thiago Lopes Ferraz Donnini, lawyer of the firm Rubens Naves Santos Jr. also involved in issues related to the Third Sector. The Control Bodies will be represented by the Inspector General of the State Administration of São Paulo and president of the National Council of Internal Control (CONACI), Gustavo Ungaro. The moderator will be the coordinator of the research line Rule of Law and Civil Society of the Applied Legal Research Center (CPJA) of São Paulo Law School, Eduardo Pannunzio.There is a growing controversy in Brazil over the control of the Public Administration partnerships with OSCs. This initiative aims to create conditions so that both can share problems and work together for the development of solutions that meet the common interest, opening up a set of open and constructive dialogue, explained Pannunzio.The event has the support of CPJA of CONACI and the General Comptroller of the State Administration of São Paulo.
