FGV Seminar discusses regulation of infrastructure sectors in Brazil

On July 31, the Center for Studies in Regulation and Infrastructure of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/CERI), in partnership with Rio de Janeiro Law School (FGV/DIREITO RIO), will conduct a seminar on Regulation, Infrastructure and the Future of the Country. The aim is to discuss the regulation of infrastructure sectors in Brazil, and identify how the challenges imposed to the regulation of these sectors are being addressed in an international and regional perspective, in Latin America.With the presence of many experts, the event opens an important forum for the debate and wide dissemination of the future of regulation in the country. FGV's president, Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, will open the seminar, which will also include the participation of the director of the Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV/IBRE), Luiz Schymura; the coordinator of CERI, Joisa Campanher Dutra; and Professor Alketa Peci.The event will also be attended by the economist and creator of the Regulation Price Cap System, Stephen Littlechild; the executive director of the Harvard Electricity Policy Group, Ashley Brown; one of the founders of the Florence School of Regulation, Jorge Vasconcelos; the World's Bank expert in Governance and Regulation, Sebastian Azumendi; and representatives of the main candidates for the presidency.The seminar will take place at Praia de Botafogo, 190, in Rio de Janeiro, from 9 am to 8 pm.
