FGV Law Professor talks about inclusive citizenship at international workshop

Adilson Moreira presented the paper The Role of International and Comparative Law in the Promotion of Equality in Brazil, which explores the issue of inclusion and citizenship, and how it became an important reference in the last two decades.

The Human Rights and Constitutional Theory Professor of São Paulo Law School, Adilson José Moreira, attended the Workshop on Transnational Perspectives on Equality Law, organized by the Association of American Law Schools in Washington DC.The meeting brought together global experts to discuss policies of racial quotas, integration of people with disabilities, criminal responsibility, gender equality, ethnic and religious minorities, advocacy of greater social vulnerability groups and rules against discrimination in general. The aim was to discuss the role of Law in promoting equality in various sectors of society, such as labor, education and politics.Moreira presented the paper The Role of International and Comparative Law in the Promotion of Equality in Brazil, which explores the issue of inclusion and citizenship, and how it became an important reference in the last two decades. In Brazil, the idea of inclusive citizenship has become an important reference in the last decades, a principle that is legitimate in internal and external sources of international law, says Moreira in the study.Moreira has developed a series of researches related to Constitutional and Comparative Law, Sociology of Law, Family Law and Rights of Minorities.The Workshop on Transnational Perspectives on Equality Law took place on June 22-24.
