The Public Policy Analysis Division of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/DAPP) launched on Thursday, June 12, its network monitoring tool for the World Cup in Brazil. Developed in partnership with Brandwatch - leading British company in social intelligence - the ?Mundial na Rede? tool will provide for one month, 24 hours a day, data and updated real-time insights about what people are talking about on the net about the World Cup.Apart from the job of mapping and analysis the network that DAPP has developed to classify the public debate and bring State and society together, the ?Mundial na Rede? tool also monitors the web beyond the sporting event. Above all, the platform seeks to contemplate the political, economic and social aspects involved in holding the Cup, such as the demonstrations, strikes and debate on the resources invested in the organization of the World Cup.How does it work? The ?Mundial na Rede? tool monitors tweets from around the globe, visually offering the most popular metrics such as hashtags, most discussed topics, most influential profiles and volumes of references by area of interest. The tool also has two sections:  Around the World, which gathers all the information about the Cup in English, and Section for Brazil, which features entries in Portuguese and shows what Brazilians are saying about the tournament. The insights are selected by the team that keeps the tool, taking into account the most important topics of the moment. The ?Mundial na Rede? tool thus provides a great picture of what the world and Brazil think about the World Cup, an overview of the public debate on all aspects surrounding such a major event. The initiative adds up to other tools for network monitoring and transparency which are under development by DAPP, comprising a very precise and detailed map of the public debate in Brazil.Soon, this tool will also allow browsing by Cup participant and visualizing the debate on the network of each country competing in the tournament. Please click here to learn more about the ?Mundial na Rede? platform
