FGV Energy participates in the largest electricity sector forum in Brazil at Foz do Iguaçu

Held every two years, the event is the most important Brazilian forum of the industry and aims to discuss and plan the operation and expansion of electric power systems in the country.

FGV Energy was one of the invited guests of Furnas to attend the 13th SEPOPE - Simpósio de Especialistas em Planejamento da Operação e Expansão Elétrica (Symposium of Specialists in Electric Expansion and Operation Planning) - organized by the company and which is taking place until tomorrow, May 21, at Foz do Iguaçu.  Held every two years, the event is the most important Brazilian forum of the industry and aims to discuss and plan the operation and expansion of electric power systems in the country.    At the meeting, the director of FGV Energy, Carlos Otavio Quintella and the Institutional Relations coordinator of FGV Energy, Luiz Roberto Bezerra, discussed the system's continuing improvement in security; the variability and diversity of the market and energy sources; the impact of renewable sources and distributed generation on the electric network; the interaction of the natural gas industry in the development of generation and transmission systems; the regulation of transmission and the effect on generation planning; and the influence of the tariffs on the expansion of generation and transmission.FGV Energy's representatives were with the executive secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), Márcio Zimmermann, and the Brazilian General Director of Itaipu Binacional, Jorge Miguel Samek, and other authorities of the electric sector. Among them, the general director of Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico (NOS), Hermes Chipp; the director of Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (EPE ), José Carlos Miranda Farias; the general director of Centro de Pesquisas de Energia Elétrica (CEPEL) Albert Melo; the Director of Operations and Maintenance of Furnas, Cesar Ribeiro Zani; and the director of Operations of the Hydroelectric Company of São Francisco (CHESF), Mozart Bandeira Arnaud.Carlos Quintella and Luiz Roberto Bezerra also conducted a technical visit to the Itaipu Binational Hydroelectric Power Plant- holder of the world record for electricity generation - where they were greeted by the Superintendent of Renewable Energy of Itaipu and the coordinator of planning and operations of Itaipu Platform of Renewable Energy, Cícero Bley Jr., and joined by Itaipu's Operations Superintendent, Celso Villar Torino.Please click below and learn more about SEPOPE.http://www.sepope.com.br/introduction/
