Students of Rio de Janeiro Law School visit UN's Information Centre in Rio

The undergraduate students of FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (FGV DIREITO RIO) went through a different experience: on May 9, they visited the United Nations Information Centre in Rio de Janeiro (UNIC Rio), located at the Foreign Ministry Palace. The activity is part of the Global Law course, taught by Professor Paula Wojcikiewicz Almeida.It is one of the complementary activities of the course, so that students can practice what they study in the classroom. A visit to the Foreign Ministry Palace provides us with concrete material to the acquired theoretical knowledge, explained Paula.During the visit, students were able to learn more about the UN, the daily routine of its employees and even attended a lecture with the press officer of UNIC Rio, Gustavo Barreto, who spoke about the UN and its legal and political systems.Global LawThe proposal of the Global Law course involves activities other than conventional classes, joining theory and practice.Besides visiting the United Nations Information Centre on May 19, Rio de Janeiro Law School will welcome the political scientist, Maurício Santoro, a member of Amnesty International.
