FGV Management welcomes representative of the Chinese University of Hong Kong

FGV Management welcomed last Friday (21/02), in Rio de Janeiro, the general manager of executive education of the Asia-Pacific Affairs Institute at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Wendy Lai. CUHK has been a partner of FGV in the OneMBA since 2002, and is one of the international partner institutions of the Institute of Educational Development (FGV/IDE) since 2010. The representative of the Chinese university was welcomed by the Executive Director of Rede Management, Mario Pinto; by the international coordinator of Rede Management, Paraskevi Bessa-Rodrigues; and the director of Strong - FGV's partner in Santos, Santo André, Osasco and Alphaville - Thelma Ribeiro.According to Lai, the visit is important to show the consideration of CUHK for the partnership with Fundação Getulio Vargas. We are trying to understand the differences between the two countries (China and Brazil), involving leaders and diplomatic representatives, to understand what we can offer in terms of programs and increase our knowledge about the country, he explained. According to the executive, the approach is also important to show the Brazilian companies operating in Hong Kong the commitment of both institutions to the market. For the director of Strong - partner of FGV in the association with CUHK - Wendy Lai's visit is an important step in approaching the Asian institution. In a globalized world, this exchange of knowledge and information is vital to the development of any organization or country. It is important because our partners envision the Brazilian reality and understand our business model with FGV, she said.According to the director, the international module in Hong Kong - which addresses the business environment in China today - is sought by professionals with more international experience. In general, the group includes directors or executives in similar positions, who are studying or have studied an MBA in Business Management with an average age of 38 years, she explained. For the representative of CUHK, the differences in style between the Brazilian and Chinese students positively impress Asians. As students, Brazilians are passionate, friendly and make friends quickly. This makes us want to share more with them, because they show they are enjoying what they hear and seem interested. They enjoy the classes, says Lai, who reported that the Brazilian stated that they have never slept so little than during the international module in Hong Kong. But they also manage to have fun and enjoy the nightlife of Hong Kong, which is pretty busy, said Lai, who has also lectured on international markets and China in São Paulo, Santos and Santo André.Learn more about IDE's international partnerships here.
