FGV study shows that Brazilians intend to travel more in Brazil

Brazilians will be the main visitors of national tourist destinations in the next six months, especially in June and July - when the World Cup will take place. That is what research, done in January by FGV Projetos in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, indicates.The Consumer - Travel Intention Survey indicates that, among respondents who intend to travel, 67.5% plan to do so in Brazil, while 27.4% plan to travel abroad.The survey also indicates that, compared to last year, there was an increase in the number of Brazilians who plan to travel: from 25.7% to 27%. In addition, among these individuals, 55.8% will use the airplane as a means of transportation, compared to 25.2% who will choose the car.The survey is conducted in seven Brazilian state capital cities and their metropolitan areas, which represent 70% of the country's tourist flow. The cities are Brasília, Porto Alegre, Recife, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Salvador and Rio de Janeiro - cities that will also host the World Cup.
