In Sweden, FGV discusses new challenges in teaching Administration

The director of Academic Integration of Fundação Getulio Vargas, Professor Antonio Freitas, will be the official representative of the Latin American Council of Management Schools (CLADEA) at the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Board Meeting. The event will take place on January 30th in Gothenburg, Sweden, and will discuss the direction of teaching Administration in the current global context.The focus of this meeting is the debate on the direction of Administration courses around the world, in the sense that they must train professionals with global concerns, said Freitas, who is also a member of PRME. FGV is fully committed, preparing future managers for the challenges of the profession, which increasingly involves issues like climate change, gender diversity and ethics, he says.Antonio Freitas will also attend the annual conference of deans and directors of the Management Development Network (EFMD) - an international organization based in Brussels, Belgium, whose goal is to provide excellence accreditations to Business Administration courses worldwide.The courses at São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV/EAESP) already hold EFMD accreditations and the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE) has just been evaluated. Also, the professor has been the chairman of the committee that established the inclusion of sustainability in the syllabus of Brazilian schools and presented the voluntary commitments of Brazil at Rio+20.In 2013, he was rewarded for the third time with the Educational Personality title - an initiative that has been promoted for 15 years by the Brazilian Education Association (ABE), of the Brazilian Press Association (ABI) and the newspaper Folha Dirigida to honor educators for their career paths and contribution to the country.
