These are the goals of the first volume of the series IBRE's Analysis of the Brazilian Economy - which brings together articles by researchers in Applied Economics at the Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV/IBRE).The book will be released on Monday, December 16, during the last Situational Analysis Seminar of the year. One of the main purposes of IBRE's Applied Economics team is to act as a think tank to help, with a strict, impartial and meticulous research effort, all those directly or indirectly involved in the mission of improving Brazil, says the team. For this purpose, we use a set of instruments and the intellectual training of the economist to ponder over issues ranging from situational issues, such as monetary and fiscal policies, to more structural issues, such as infrastructure, productivity, demographics and problems in the industry.
