IBRE launches book at the last Situational Analysis Seminar of the year

Defining paths and carrying out analyses that enable Brazil to achieve full development, consistent with the demands of the population and the place that the country occupies in the world. These are the goals of the first volume of the series IBRE's Analysis of the Brazilian Economy - which brings together articles by researchers in Applied Economics at the Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV/IBRE).The book will be released on Monday, December 16, during the last Situational Analysis Seminar of the year. One of the main purposes of IBRE's Applied Economics team is to act as a think tank to help, with a strict, impartial and meticulous research effort, all those directly or indirectly involved in the mission of improving Brazil, says the team. For this purpose, we use a set of instruments and the intellectual training of the economist to ponder over issues ranging from situational issues, such as monetary and fiscal policies, to more structural issues, such as infrastructure, productivity, demographics and problems in the industry. Topics such as trade policy, integration to global value chains and young people in the labor market are also on the menu, it explains in the synopsis.IBRE's Analysis on the Brazilian Economy is a publication of FGV Press and it includes the participation of Armando Castelar Pinheiro and Regis Bonelli (organizers), in addition to researchers Fernando de Holanda Barbosa Filho, Fernando Veloso, Gabriel Leal de Barros, Joana Monteiro, José Júlio Senna, José Roberto Afonso, Julia Fontes, Lia Valls Pereira, Mauricio Canêdo Pinheiro and Silvia Matos.About the Situational Analysis SeminarIn order to evaluate the recent performance and the prospects for the Brazilian economy in the short and medium term, the Situational Analysis seminars provide the dissemination of indicators, statistics and qualitative and quantitative research produced by the institute and they are held quarterly.The event is open to the public and it will take place from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at FGV's main offices, in Rio de Janeiro.Please click here to register (in Portuguese).
