FGV discusses the challenges faced by Latin American organizations

The challenges for Latin American society and business in a multicultural world in transition. This is the theme of the 8th Iberoamerican Academy Conference - organized by São Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV/EAESP) which will take place on December 8-10 at the School's main office.During the event, researchers of Fundação Getulio Vargas and other higher education institutions of Brazil, Latin America, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom will discuss the extent to which global changes in economics, geopolitics, culture and society create regional implications in a scenario of increasing development, but also of extreme poverty. The conference will take into account - besides the specificities of each country - what the common problems to public and private organizations in the region are, such as improvements in education, labor force qualification and productivity.Among the main topics to be discussed are the role of Latin American organizations in the global context; how they can become more competitive in the international market; if emerging countries managed to change the inequality conditions as part of the contemporary capitalism; which skills are necessary to make society, organizations and individuals develop in this dynamic environment; and what the role is of Latin American scholars in Business Administration teaching and research in schools of the region. The Iberoamerican Academy Conference this year has the support of the Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo (FAPESP), the National Council for Research and Development (CNPQ), the Coordination of Higher Education Staff Development (Capes), the Business Administration Review (RAE), TAM, the Survey Monkey and the Management Research journal. To learn more, please click here.
