The Center for Sustainability Studies of São Paulo School of Business Administration (GVces/EAESP) launches today, September 24, the 2nd edition of the Business Partnership for Ecosystem Services (PESE) - an initiative of the Center, the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) and the World Resources Institute (WRI), with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (Usaid).PESE's objective is to show the benefits of strategic management for business in Brazil, by strengthening the capacity of Brazilian companies to reduce their negative impacts on ecosystem services (also known as environmental services), the importance of the commercial value of ecosystems, biodiversity preservation, and training a network of professionals related to this type of services in order to achieve applicable results that collaborate with the expansion of business strategies.The companies that join the partnership receive training on how to use the Corporate Ecosystem Services Review (ESR) tool - a methodology created to help businesses deal with the risks and opportunities arising from the change in ecosystems.The launch of the Business Partnership for Ecosystem Services takes place at the VI Sustainable International Congress 2013, in the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro.
