FGV Publication reports advances and challenges in Brazil

Fundação Getulio Vargas' 2012 Annual Report - developed by FGV's Division of Communication and Marketing (DICOM) - is already available in English and in Portuguese as well. The publication draws a panorama of FGV's academic production, bringing to the national and international community the main achievements and data of the institution over the previous year, besides presenting articles from its research professors in four thematic axis: Economy, Education, Health and Justice. With the theme A Stronger Brazilian Society, the latest edition of the Annual Report includes the participation of professors Ana Maria Malik and Fernando Abrucio, from FGV'S São Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP), besides Marcelo Neri, from FGV'S Graduate School of Economics (EPGE), and Thiago Bottino, from FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (DIREITO RIO). Ana Maria Malik talks about the Single Health System (SUS) and the performance of GVSaúde - FGV's unit that develops projects in Planning and Management in the field of health. The acting minister of the Strategic Affairs Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic and president of the Applied Economic Research Institute (Ipea), Marcelo Neri, analyzes the phenomenon of the New Brazilian Middle Class and FGV's contribution to this new scenario. Fernando Abrucio, on the other hand, debates the advances and challenges of education in Brazil, remembering FGV's studies that influenced public policies and deal with the main issues of the sector. Thiago Bottino, in turn, highlights the importance of the Judiciary in Human Rights enforcement in the country and explains the innovative educational project of FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School.
