On August 20, Fundação Getulio Vargas' international director, Bianor Cavalcanti, participated in the first edition of the Harvard Business Review Brazil Forum, with the theme Pathways to excellence in public administration. The objective of the event was to discuss the development and modernization of public administration in Brazil based on three major axis - Leadership and talent management; Planning, execution and strategy continuity; and Management and public management operation excellence. Based on the current context of this field, the discussions included the challenges for an effective modernization of management practices, as well as the promotion of possible paths and solutions toward the edification of a more efficient and dynamic public machine. Bianor Cavalcanti acted as moderator of the two panels that made up the reflective sessions of the event: The definition of robust management models for the generation of sustainable and impact results and Management models to be observed: how some industries are distinguishing themselves with modern management practices and what can and should be done about the public policies that guide Brazilian public administration. The forum, which brought together national and international authorities on the subject, also counted on the participation of one of the most respected economists in the world, Lant Pritchett - International Development and Public Policies professor and president of the development area of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. According to Bianor Cavalcanti, the event, by gathering public administrators from the most varied national public organizations, as well as influential international experts, acquires great importance to the debate on modern success practices and public administration improvements - essential and vital factors for the sustainable and socioeconomic development of the country. The HBR Public Management Brazil Forum took place in the Federal District, and was attended by Corporate FGV as a sponsor. For more information about the event, please click here. (Page in Portuguese)  *In the picture, the director Bianor Cavalcanti, standing on the right hand side.
