Lectures with the presidents of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Carlos Ayres Britto and Nelson Jobim, in addition to 48 journalists from all over the country. That's how the third edition of the course of Law for Journalists at FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (DIREITO RIO) was - held on July 8-13, at FGV's headquarters.  During six days, professionals of vehicles such as Veja magazine, and newspapers O Globo and Zero Hour got in touch with the principles of Criminal, Tax, Environmental, Constitutional, Economic and Labor Law; Regulation and Public Bids, Public Security, Copyright and Human Rights - one of the new topics of this edition, which also counted on the participation of the School's director and member of the National Council of Justice between 2005 and 2009, professor Joaquim Falcão.  According to Ana Lúcia Valinho, from the newspaper O Globo, the course addressed important and urgent aspects.  It was remarkable. In everyday work, we always come across the basics of the legal world, but, unfortunately, the theme is not yet addressed adequately in Communication Colleges, she says.  Still according to her, the opportunity to have a direct line with professors and jurists to ask questions on issues and cases that the media covers is essential to present correct information to readers. The exchanges with colleagues from other member states is also great in order to learn even more about the situation of the press in Brazil today,  she analyzes.  In order to attend the course, the more than 140 interested journalists were selected by a committee made up of the School's Communication professionals, according to the criteria described in the public notice. This year, the course registered a record number of enrollments.  The course of Law for Journalists by FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School is held once a year since 2011.
