Professor at FGV/EPGE organized a special session at symposium in South Korea

Professor at FGV/EPGE - Graduate School of Economics, João Victor Issler, organized a special session at the 33rd International Symposium on Forecasting, held by the International Institute of Forecasters (IIF) - a multidisciplinary association dedicated to researching forecasts of different variables in Economics, Business, Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, among other areas. The event took place in South Korea on June 22-26. This is the second time Issler has participated in an IIF congress by invitation from the organizers. This year, his session featured three articles on Economics forecasts. The first, developed by the Professor Wagner Gaglianone, in partnership with the Central Bank (BACEN), addressed the use of panel econometric techniques in forecasts on micro-foundation perspectives; the second, by Alain Hecq, from the University of Maastricht, depicted the causality and forecasts in mixed frequency models; and the third, by Osmain Guillén and Francisco Figueiredo, both from the Central Bank, addressed the forecasts for Brazilian inflation (IPCA), using hundreds of variables in a VAR model with factors (FAVAR). It is worth noting that Gaglianone, Hecq and Guillén coauthored different articles with João Victor Issler. The first two are FGV/EPGE doctors and had Issler as their advisor.
