FGV Energy’s director, Carlos Otavio Quintella, participated in the launch of the ‘CON Energia’ project on March 15. The initiative by the Naval Operations Command seeks to reduce electricity costs for the Brazilian Navy, as well as to create alternatives to improve and deploy actions that promote smart energy management.

The project will be implemented by the Navy’s Energy Savings Internal Commission (CICEMAR), structured around three pillars: free market, energy efficiency, and distributed generation, as explained by Rear Admiral Vanley Monteiro Soares.

The launch event was chaired by the Commander of Naval Operations, Admiral Sergio Roberto Fernandes dos Santos. Besides the director of FGV Energy – Center for Energy Studies, the project launch was also attended by Jeferson Borghetti Soares (Empresa de Pesquisa Energética – EPE) and Marcio Szechtman (Centro de Pesquisas de Energia Elétrica – CEPEL).
