FGV and Cape Verde strengthen relations with aim to train executives
The ambassador of Brazil in Cape Verde joined FGV in preliminary business meetings to promote FGV’s image of excellence.

With the aim of negotiating and disseminating FGV’s initiatives to train executives from Cape Verde, professor Marcus Vinicius Rodrigues, from the Center for Cooperation with Africa and Portugal (NuCAP) of FGV’s International Affairs Division (DINT), traveled to the Cape Verde archipelago between February 17 and 24 to meet with Brazil’s ambassador in the country, José Carlos Leitão.
The ambassador joined professor Marcus Vinicius in preliminary business meetings to promote FGV’s image of excellence. One of the most important meetings was with former President of the Republic of Cape Verde, commander Pedro Pires.
The politician from Cape Verde was the Prime Minister of the First Government of Cape Verde, alongside President Aristides Pereira. He was elected the country’s third president in 2001. He was also one of the main men under Amílcar Cabral, taking over negotiations with Portugal regarding the independence of Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau after Cabral’s death. The commander currently presides over the Amílcar Cabral Institute.
