The event is geared towards basic education teachers, higher education professors and undergraduate degree students. The international seminar is the second step of the development project entitled “Education and Innovation: New Ways of Teaching Social Sciences and History,” funded by FGV for the three-year period of 2016-2018. The seminar seeks to gather experts from Brazil and around the world to discuss three aspects of Social Sciences and History education: ethnic and racial issues, the use of audiovisual media, and the impact of the latest information technologies.
The seminar will include expert lectures and two sessions to discuss the teaching experiences of Basic or Higher Education professionals registered for the event.
Teachers and professors who wish to participate in the debate sessions must attach a one-page letter describing the teaching experiences they would like to share with their colleagues. The scientific committee will choose the best letters and divide the participants into two afternoon sessions, which will be held on August 29-30. All participants will receive certificates.
