In partnership with Fudan University (China), China Society for Public Sector Reform, Overseas Development Institute (ODI), and London School of Economics (LSE), FGV will host the “Second International Symposium on Development and Governance in the BRICS”. To participate in the event, to be held in Shanghai (China) in September, researchers and professors must submit their abstracts by April 15.
Organized by professors José A. Puppim de Oliveira (EBAPE and EAESP) and Yijia Jing (Fudan University), the event will promote debates and studies on development and governance in the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). Papers must present specific studies in at least one of the sectors or locations at subnational level. Organizers also expect to receive comparative studies regarding new institutions led by the block, such as the New Development Bank, or even BRICS’ influence over other countries, as well as the theoretical implications of their practices.
Besides participating in the event, the best articles will be featured in a special journal edition and a compiled book.
