Journal of History, Politics and Culture issues call for papers on Migrations and Identities
The journal will consider papers that integrate migration processes and the concept of identity in different locations and at different times.

The surge in migrations in recent decades has brought discussions surrounding this topic under the spotlight. Issues such as the opening of borders, the challenges of taking in immigrants, and growing xenophobia, among others, have spurred public debate and academic research on the matter. Considering the debate that covers both regional and international migration flows, the Revista Mosaico (Mosaic: Journal of History, Politics and Culture) by FGV’s School of Social Sciences (CPDOC) has issued a call for papers and reviews on the topic titled Migrations and Identities, to be published in the journal’s second edition of 2017. Papers must be submitted by July 21, 2017.
Inherently interdisciplinary in nature, the migration phenomenon and its repercussions have been studied in the fields of history, anthropology, sociology, geography, law and public policies. The journal will consider papers that integrate migration processes and the concept of identity in different locations and at different times. A closer look at the crossroads between these two topics can spark insights on identities forged by migrations, either involving the migrant group or the communities to which they migrate. From a familiar, generational, territorial, associative, religious or political standpoint, the idea is to promote studies that shed light onto the different facets that associate migrations and identity issues.
Mosaic: Journal of History, Politics and Culture is a half-yearly publication organized by the students of CPDOC’s PhD in History, Politics and Cultural Assets (PPHPBC). In addition to the papers, the journal will also accept articles for the free topics, reviews and research notes sections.
