Moving Archives: digital book is released on the topic
FGV Press has just launched a digital book on 'Moving Archives: International Archive Documentary Seminar'.

FGV Press has just launched the digital book ‘Arquivos em Movimento: Seminário Internacional de Documentário de Arquivo’ [Moving Archives: International Archive Documentary Seminar], published in Portuguese and English. The work was based on the event of the same name held by FGV’s School of Social Sciences (CPDOC) in November 2016. The goal of the seminar was to promote insights on different ways to incorporate pre-existing images in the field of documentary audiovisual production.
The publication compiles the end results of analyses carried out during the seminar, covering a field of production commonly referred to as ‘archive film’.
The e-book project presented a diversified and heterogeneous overview of the objects and methodologies employed in the research. However, the issues raised by the various authors start from a common backdrop: the image and its duration in time and space.
The book is coordinated by CPDOC professors and researchers Adelina Novaes e Cruz, Arbel Griner, Patrícia Machado, and Thaís Blank.
