Some of the content of the Oral History Program of FGV’s School of Social Sciences (CPDOC) has been shared on the Europeana Sounds digital platform. The project was co-financed by the European Commission and the consortium of the same name, providing a gateway to the European sound and musical heritage, featuring items related to the musical universe – popular, classic and folklore –, records of languages and dialects, and oral memory.

Since early 2017, the platform’s catalog has featured interviews with social scientists from Portugal and Mozambique under the research project titled “Social Scientists of the Portuguese Language: life stories,” coordinated by Professor Celso Castro (FGV CPDOC).

The testimonies reveal aspects of the trajectories and academic backgrounds of these individuals, providing a study source to understand the birth of the field of social sciences in these countries, in addition to strengthening the Community of Portuguese Language Countries. The shared material covers approximately 15 hours across 10 interviews.
