The Brazilian Amazon is fundamental to global climate balance, biodiversity and economic sustainability. Thinking about strategies for the region requires reconciling environmental preservation with socio-economic development, guaranteeing forest conservation, valuing local populations, reducing inequalities and combating illegal activities. At this event, we will debate the challenges, opportunities and proposed solutions for the sustainable development of the Amazon.
The speakers will be:
- Tereza Campello, Socio-Environmental Director of the BNDES and former Minister of Social Development;
- Gustavo Igrejas, Executive Secretary for Economic Development of the State of Amazonas.
The moderation will be carried out by Márcio Holland, professor at FGV EESP, coordinator of the Post-Graduation lato sensu (the Masters of FGV EESP) and columnist Broadcast/Agência Estado; and Daniel Vargas, professor at FGV EESP, Master and PhD in Law from Havard University.
