FGV Direito SP passa a integrar a European Law Faculties Associacion

The São Paulo Law School (FGV Direito SP) has joined the European Law Faculties Association (Elfa), an international forum for the discussion of legal topics related to legal education. The school formally joined the association in October, when it was accepted as a listener member.

Founded in 1995 in Leuven, Belgium, by more than 80 law faculties located in different universities in Europe, Elfa now has more than 150 members from countries in Europe and other continents. In South America, Elfa members include FGV Direito SP, the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Uruguay and the Faculty of Law of the University of Los Andes.

As well as being a forum for debate on legal education, Elfa also promotes and facilitates the establishment of cooperation agreements with government agencies and educational bodies in Europe and other continents.

Last year, it announced a partnership with the Law Schools Global League (LSGL) to produce a special edition of the European Journal of Legal Education, Elfa's journal dedicated to global legal education that will examine topics such as the rule of law, technology, legal education networks and equality from a global perspective. Being part of Elfa makes FGV Direito SP increasingly international. It should be noted that FGV Direito SP has been on an international trajectory since its creation, making it one of the most internationalized schools in the country. Always attentive to the international legal debate, in which it participates in different ways, FGV Direito SP has more than 40 agreements with foreign schools from different continents that allow for the exchange of students and professors and the carrying out of joint research.

Establishing and maintaining solid international partnerships enables both the discussion of global issues and the development of innovative solutions. In addition to Elfa, FGV Direito SP is part of the Law Schools Global League (LSGL) and Sui Iuris, networks of which it is a founder and which bring together educational institutions from different countries to debate and develop responses to the new challenges posed by economic, political and technological globalization to traditional law teaching.
