FGV CPDOC calls for proposals for online voluntary introductory scientific research
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ School of Social Sciences (FGV CPDOC), rated the best higher education institution in Brazil by the Education Ministry (in its 2021 General Course Index), is now accepting proposals for its 2023-2024 Voluntary Introductory Scientific Research Program. The aim is to teach research techniques and methods and stimulate the development of critical thinking, creativity, digital literary and the capacity to solve problems and challenges faced by Brazilian society. The activities are scheduled to begin in September 2023 and the deadline for applications is August 7.
FGV CPDOC’s Voluntary Introductory Scientific Research Program is open to undergraduate and high school students across the country. For one year, the participants will receive individual guidance from FGV professors and researchers and develop their scientific research skills, contributing to Brazil’s socioeconomic development.
The voluntary research students will work together with FGV CPDOC’s regular students in interdisciplinary activities in research laboratories, based on work plans involving the school’s Social Sciences Undergraduate Program, History, Politics and Cultural Heritage Graduate Program, Audiovisual and Documentary Center and Archive Center. They will also be encouraged to share their research findings in several formats, including presentations at academic events, podcasts, videos and content for social networks.
At the end of the introductory scientific research experience, the students will present the results of their work in a final report and at the Internal Introductory Scientific Research Conference, organized by FGV’s Office of the Provost for Education, Research and Graduate Studies.
