FGV EPGE professor appointed Fellow of Journal of Econometrics in 2021

Professor Marcelo J. Moreira of Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) has been appointed a fellow of the Journal of Econometrics in recognition of his contributions to the field of econometrics. The Journal of Econometrics disseminates high-quality major new research findings in theoretical and applied econometrics.

The journal’s articles address econometric issues commonly encountered in economic research, such as identification, estimation, testing, decisions and prediction. Classical Bayesian statistics, experimental design and machine learning methods are also within the journal’s scope of interests.

Marcelo Moreira is a professor at FGV EPGE and a member of the editorial board of the Econometrics Journal, Journal of Econometrics and Quantitative Economics. He has a doctorate in economics and a master’s in statistics from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a former professor at Harvard University and Columbia University. He was elected an Alfred P. Sloan fellow in 2006 and an Econometric Society fellow in 2012. In 2015, he became an international fellow of University College London, and in 2020 he was elected an IAAE 2020 Fellow. His research is mainly focused on mathematical, econometric and statistical methods and models.
