FGV EPGE receives approval from Education Ministry for distance education courses
The commission also gave the school a maximum score of five out of five for its institutional capacity and excellence in education and research.

In the second week of May 2021, the Brazilian Education Ministry’s evaluation commission authorized Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) to run distance education courses. The commission also gave the school a maximum score of five out of five for its institutional capacity and excellence in education and research.
FGV EPGE’s mission is to contribute to education and the expansion of knowledge in the field of economics. Always supported by the research activity of its faculty and students, the pursuit of excellence in education takes place at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Since it was founded in 1961, FGV EPGE has educated a significant share of Brazil’s most outstanding economists, as well as researchers and professors who today lecture at some of the best economics departments in Brazil and elsewhere. The accreditation of distance education is another achievement for the school in its quest for innovation combined with high-quality teaching.
“This approval from the Education Ministry is very important as it accredits FGV EPGE to share knowledge obtained from its research and studies throughout the country, and not just in certain locations. Many parts of Brazil that do not have economics schools will be able to benefit from this process. In order to share our knowledge, we will be supported by Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Institute for Educational Development (IDE), which will help implement, sell and distribute continuing education courses devised by EPGE across the country,” says Professor Rubens Penha Cysne, FGV EPGE’s dean.
